MIT USA GDL Internships 2025: The Global Diversity Lab (GDL) Summer Internship Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is now inviting applications for its 2025 internship cohort. Hosted by MIT’s Department of Political Science and the MIT Center for International Studies, this prestigious program offers undergraduate students a unique opportunity to engage in hands-on research within the field of social sciences.
Program Overview
Interns will gain valuable experience through two primary components.
🔹 Research Assistant Roles – Contributing to ongoing GDL research projects focused on global diversity, development, and human dignity.
🔹 Independent Research – Developing their own research projects, including senior thesis preparation, with mentorship from MIT Political Science faculty.
In addition to research work, participants will attend weekly workshops led by MIT faculty and graduate students, covering essential research methods, skills development, and career guidance in the social sciences. The program also includes social and networking events to foster connections among interns and faculty members.
This initiative is dedicated to increasing diversity and inclusion in academic research, providing a strong foundation for students preparing for graduate studies or professional careers.

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be currently enrolled as undergraduate students at a U.S. university.
